“Mommy, get me outta my crib!”, is the sound we wake up to each morning at approximately 6:15am on the dot. Our dear precious 2 year old likes to let us know when it is time to get up. Each morning Aaron and I go in and get the kids around 6:30 am. We each take a kid, change their diaper and go downstairs.

Ian likes to immediately have his morning bottle while Norah likes her sippy with OJ. We get the kids settled and Aaron goes and gets his shower and gets ready for work. We watch some TV in the morning. After Aaron is done getting ready, mommy goes up to get ready. I honestly don’t think I would shower if Aaron wasn’t here to watch the kids. So I am grateful for the 20 minutes of quiet I get to shower in the morning while Aaron is still there!

We are cereal eaters. We have aobut 10 boxes at all times in our pantry. There is no variety or kind we won’t try at least once. So we all have our cereal , and Aaron leaves for work at 7:45am. Once Aaron leaves the kids and I play, watch TV, run errands, hang out with friends, and just have fun.

Ian still naps in the morning and the afternoon. Norah naps in the afternoon.
It took me about 9 months after Ian was born to coordinate them both napping at the same time. Quite an accomplishment I must say. I get some “free” time when they both nap. I will admit, somedays I do lay down for a nappy myself, however I am finding prepping dinner during this time is helpful.

Dinner time is a um…nightmare. It is difficult to prepare a meal with the kids at my feet and trying to meet their demands at the same time. Aaron arrives home at 6pm. I do feed the kids before he gets home. Unfortunatley the kids can’t quite last that long for dinner. We know the importance of mealtime and families but that is where we are at right now in life.

After Aaron eats he plays with the kids while I clean up. Bedtime promptly at 7pm. We like that the kids go to bed early as it leaves time for Aaron and I to hang out, talk, computer, tv or whatever!

A day in the life of the Bishop’s may be boring but….we are loving where we are at in life!
-I don’t know about boring, Lisa and Aaron, with two little kids, you have anything but a boring life. It’s more like adventures with pre-schoolers.
