The Grand Canyon: Photos

by Julia on February 6, 2010

DaveDave… One of the guys we went on the trip with…

Me

This is me… My wonderful husband took this shot.  ;)  I think it’s pretty great.

Horses on the side of the road...We stopped the car when we saw these horses just roaming on the side of the road…  this was very cool.

Dave in a Joshua Tree

Dave decided to climb a Joshua tree.

3 MusketeersJason with two of our traveling companions.  This was taken at the Hoover Dam.  There was a nice lady who took a photo of the 4 of us together, but it really didn’t come out nice.  (and no, I’m not just saying that because I don’t like my photo taken… It really was a blurry mess)

Jason at the DamWe thought it was pretty hilarious when on the Dam Radio Station, they kept saying “The Dam tour times are:”  It was cracking us up…  So, in honor of that “Here’s Jason’s Dam photo!”  LOL!

Dave Dukes Style EntranceDave diving in the car, Dukes of Hazard style…  (maybe?)

Julia and the Joshua TreeI like this photo too… Jason… Maybe photography is in your future?

View from the Car

This photo was taken while riding in the car.  And I love how the Joshua Tree’s are shaped with the Mountain in the view.  I love this photo.  (If I may say so myself!)  LOL!  This may get blown up and framed.  :)

Dave on the ledgeDave kept scaring us by going too close to the edge of the canyon…  Here is him looking like he’s just holding on… But he’s standing on a small ledge below.

Kathy overlooking the CanyonKathy on the edge here…

Smiling...Kathy smiling…  I really like this photo of her.   She had a good time seeing the canyon for the first time.  (so did we all!)

Dave in the crackOh No… Here is Dave at it again….

I mean c'mon!

This shows you how close he was to the edge…. One wrong step and it would have been “bye Dave!”.  He was literally giving Jason a heart attack!  Jason wouldn’t step closer to the edge than about 5 ft.  His palms got all sweaty.  So, when any of us got close (which we all did!) we made Jason get really really nervous!

Setting up the shot!We had asked (his name escapes me at the moment) one of the Hulapulai tribe members to take our photo for us.  He thought we meant at first would he pose in the photo with us!  LOL!  So, here’s the crew all laughing at the misunderstanding, because he is paid to get his photo taken with the tourists.  LOL!

The 4 of us! Now we got it all set up and got our photo taken!  :)   It came out pretty nice!

And that is our trip to the Grand Canyon!  - Stay tuned for next weeks Story!  Meet the Ferrences!
